The Societal Aspects of Weather (SOCASP) is the Societal Impacts Program?s database of Internet resources on weather impacts and organizations that respond to those impacts. It is a service of the National Center for Atmospheric Research?s (NCAR) - Societal Impacts Program (SIP). The purpose of this site is to provide a database of consistent, relevant internet resources about societal aspects of weather and weather forecasting. The site was remodeled based on a previous site designed by Roger Pielke, Jr. of the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES) Center for Science and Technology Policy Research.Topics include the following:
